#1: new cat and 02 sensor; old error code
Posted on 2006-07-19 10:37:37 by honda_part_jockey
sounded like rocks loose in catalytic converter on 99 honda accord,
4-cyl, 4-door dx 5 spd.
replaced cat with aftermarket can. no more loose rocks.
problem solved.
uhh...no.
a few days later, got a "check engine" light. error light flash code 67
(P0401): "catalytic converter efficiency low." checked the cat's O2
sensor. heater resistance was too high.
replaced the sensor.
problem solved.
uhh...no.
a month later the "check engine light" and error 67 are back.
what's my next move?

A P0401 is a code for a restricted egr flow. A p0420 is for the
CAT. figure out what code you really have and get back to us
