#1: Ebay Cancel Auction - Fuckers

Posted on 2006-07-21 19:03:35 by sweller

Ebay have cancelled my Dnepr auction because of keyword spamming!

"...
180007711778 - Dnepr MT9 Cossack Sidecar Outfit (not Ural)

However, your listing was in breach of eBay's Keyword Spamming policy and
has been removed from eBay. All fees related to this listing have been
credited to your account. We also notified members who placed bids on the
item that the listing has
been canceled.

We would like to take this opportunity to let you know what part of your
listing is not permitted.

Your listing(s) contains the following information:

not Ural

Keyword spamming is not permitted on eBay. This occurs when members place
brand names or other inappropriate keywords in a title or description for
the purpose of gaining attention or diverting members to a listing.

Sellers are not permitted to make comparisons between items in a listing
title.
...."

How do I find the high bidder (who had bid £310!!) he was called
Harleyboy something?

Has anyone got a cached copy of my listing? I really need the bloody
thing gone.

Try replying to them explaining the obvious requirement of the (fair)

Bwahahahahahahahaha!!

Even if he did get someone to listen, they won't reinstate. Relist
without the keyword spamming[1] is the only real option.

[1]If Simon relists with a similar title, the twat who reported the
violation will no doubt happily do so again. That way lies suspension.

I suspect you're bang on the money. I've found the high bidder and sent
him an email saying does he want it at the £310 bid we were on.

If he doesn't want it I'll relist on Sunday - if I can remember what I
wrote.

I suspect it would have gone a little higher but not much - although of
the 75 watchers most were for the comedy heap of shit.

Oh good, its bloody annoying when fuggin wankers put all that shite in
an auction title. I'm glad Ebay are doing something about it at last,
it'll make the searches actually worth using again.

I think you're giving ebay too much credit.

As it always was, ebay will pull the auction when someone complains
about it and I'd be willing to lay money on some netkop having done
that here. I very much doubt that ebay have started to actively police
this.

I'd say you're spot on with your assessment of the situation. It's got
to be a right pain in the arse if it's your auction that gets pulled
and I'd be mightily pissed off if I were Sweller.

Frag seems to be over reacting a bit but perhaps he has other issues
with Sweller that I don't know about.

It was previously a pain searching for Snap-On kit as so many twats put
"Like Snapon" or "Not Snapon" in their shite tool auctions. The
situation has improved quite a lot.

"-not" and "-like" in your search terms, without the quotation marks,
will help.

They put in 'snap one up' in the title to trigger it. But that's
stealth keyword spamming in the tool auctions.

The little tinkers.

And it's usually some shite chinese crap.

Well true. The idiots still haven't added the most obviously useful
thing - a "report auction" button anywhere.
