#1: Plans thwarted

Posted on 2006-07-23 17:54:57 by Mike Baxter

Yesterday evening, about 2 hours prior to me hitting the garage for a
little "getting ready for Spodefest" time, my power went out in my
neighborhood. It didn't come back on until 7:45 AM this morning. So
my "work by artificial light because it's cooler" idea back-fired. I
slept all of about 1 hour last night and now I'm faced with hitting
the garage now tired and energy free. ugh!

Get a generator.... then you can also luxuriate in several more dimensions
of reward.... like the envy from your sweaty neighbors you just know is
there... or the fact that the sound from it royally pisses them off a bunch
more because they aren't enjoying the benefit too... or the fact that AC
blown in by a generator during a lethal heat wave feels 1000x nicer...
There's no describing the feeling of having power hours or days into a heat
wave (or cold snap). Just go for it!

Mike

ps - From the 90's... during a multiday outage, I needed to fill up my gas
only the power was out there too. I just rolled the monster onto the
trailer and supplied my own power through the welder outlet in the garage
area:) "Hey... can you stick around while I fuel my car up?" "I can do one
but I gotta run" and I made up some crap about getting back to some medical
equipment. The look on the second guys face was *priceless*.

I heard about the power going off over in Milpitas, I hoped it wasn't
you. The pool was not refreshing, the water was to hot. I took a
cold shower a couple times to drive-down core temps.
