#1: DRL question

Posted on 2006-07-23 19:27:41 by McNerd

I just swapped in some new low beams (superwhite 5000k.) Now, my '01
GTI VR6 seems to have forgotten it has DRL. Not that it's a big deal
or anything, but i was just wondering if my suspicion is correct. I'm
thinking it's just that my bulbs (cheap: $5 each) are simply not
capable of producing visible light at the low voltage that the DRL runs
on. I haven't had a chance to stick my voltmeter on there, but i just
wanted to get an outside opinion on it, as this is my first time
replacing bulbs on a DRL vehicle, as well as my first time using 5000k.

Sound reasonable ?

Sounds like you are asking in the wrong place.

Go to the WATERcooled VW newsgroup at rec.autos.makers.vw.watercooled

We here only talk about the older, aircooled Volkswagens. We get all
giddy if we can get regular H4 halogen bulbs. DRL means nothing here. :)

In other words, it's a nice tall glass of bacteria doo-doo.
