Probablly not. IME, it would be almost impossible to time such an
entry unless you are at the intersection and if you are waiting to
make the turn with no oncomming traffic, the people behind me might
not understand and get impatient.

Just curious, but is there enough room for a shoulder pass to deal
with the sloth phalanx?

Guess I either don't understand the question or I'll answer it with another
question: How could you even time it to be in your favor? Unless you know
of certain hours when the road will be less slothy than others?? Sounds
like a random deal to me. What am I missing here?? Perhaps pretty pictures
would help.

Ah, yes - the large space cushion. Every good driver's best friend. It
sounds like you can't pass the clump if you're in it or right behind it, so
what if you were wait for it to go by and turn onto that road just before
the next clump meanders along? You may be waiting a bit, but, as you said,
you'll have that cushion and won't be in a clump - which I personally
dislike BIG time. And sometimes you just gotta speed to avoid being sucked
into one them, right?? Heheheh...
