Enroute home from work: stopped at a convenience store, then tried to
leave. Some unskilled driver in a pickup did a U-turn on the street
and almost took out a curb, right in front of me. Fortunately I was
already stopped.
Then, in a severe display of lane-choice impairment, he drove into a
lane marked for no traffic (the diagonal lines) before getting into
the proper lane for a planned left turn.
After the turn, where the highway loses the left lane, he waited until
the last moment to move right...at 30 in a 45. Hmmmm.
Oh yeah, the pickup had California plates. My first thought: "I
*know* that can't be Scott!" :)

I wonder if they were lost? I notice that people start doing
very dangerous things in traffic when they are lost. Usually
the best course of action is to stop for a few minutes, get
calmed down, and then try to figure out where you are and get
moving again. That is the least likely action that lost people
will take. Lost and late, well, that is a double whammy, and
likely to cause an accident.

Maybe it wasn't bozosity, but booze-osity. Conventional wisdom has it
that weavy lane control, inappropriate choice of driving surfaces, and
a speed deeply inappropriate (in either direction) for the
circumstances are among the typical signs.
Yeah, it seems early, assuming that you work a conventional 8-5ish
job; but some people get off at 3, or work nights, or just head for
the bar or the package store in lieu of working... and the sun's
always over the yardarm somewhere. And of course both prescription
and self-inflicted drugs can cause impaired driving.
Or maybe he was just lost, tired, hitting a sugar low, poor in
navigational skills, without clear idea that this was wrong, or
convinced that he owned the road and everybody else could just get out
of the way (pick one or more).

In this area (near KC), any of the above is possible. We've had a
nasty rash of flu in the area, and he may have had that as well. I've
lived in the state long enough for the surprise factor to be
completely eliminated.
It's happy hour somewhere (what happened to Hector?)!

I think he reappeared under the name "David Poole" unless I've got my
psoters mixed up.

That would be me. :-)
I just got tired of playing with the group's two retards, so I kill
filtered them. Playing with S&DDAM was the reason I switched from
posting with my real name to begin with, but it got rather boring.
The upside to kill filing those two idiots is that I've been learning
new stuff that's useful for work, and as a result, I recently received
a 150% performance bonus. :-)
Unfortunately my boss won't tell me what he's promoting me to, which
leads me to believe it's going to be another multi-step promotion.
Kill filing those two idiots has been most rewarding.

You get a 66.7% accuracy rating...factor #3 was knowing that a pickup
would be a serious downgrade from your Corvette. :)

After the ongoing saga of Aunt Judy, I don't blame him a bit.
