Press notice by federal police:
http://www.presseportal.de/polizeipresse/pm/63990/1114370/bu ndespolizeiinspektion_kassel
Accident avoided by emergency braking (the Kurhessenbahn operates
Stadler GTW similar to those bought by Austin, they brake a little
better than most US rolling stock). Garbage truck driver ignores train,
finishes loading, and drives away without reaction. In a fiction film,
nobody would believe the scene... ;-)
Suspect identified by police, faces investigation for "gefährlicher
Eingriff in den Bahnverkehr" ("dangerous intervention into railroad
traffic"), which can get quite expensive and uncomfortable.

No. The KBE was located here

The Kurhessenbahn is located here

It is a regional subsidiary of DB, which operates DMUs on 80 km/h
singletrack in hilly rural terrain.
