This psychopath should be locked up forever but we all know nothing
will be done to him. The auto industry makes a fortune off car crashes
and they pay DAs not to prosecute highway killers.

When I was about 25 or so, I had a run-away car.
I was accelerating in 1st and the motor mount gave way, allowing the
engine to tip, opening the carb all the way. As it was in first, it
redlined quickly* and the drop in torque let the engine flop bach into
place. Had I got into secod before the engine ran away, I might have
been going faster. In third, it would be been faster.
*In my case, being mechaniclly inclined, I just hit ignition switch
and "feathered" it home.
GM cars of the 1960s were known for this once oil got to the left
mount.

Heh. So did another brand of car, for which I've made a few custom
driver's side engine mounts :)
