I've seen a couple of climatologists make a case for a wetter climate
in the great plains. This is predicated on warming causing the
prevailing west to east weather flow to shift to more north-south
patterns thus reducing the drying effect of the western mountains on
the interior.

You had better prey that their prediction of prolonged deep drought for
the regions of the U.S. currently experiencing historic drought is just a
coincidence or else AmeriKKKa is going to lose more states than Florida in
the coming decades.
My expectation is that desertification of the Central U.S. will result in
the U.S. splitting into two separate nations, on either side of the new
desert, with the Northern progressive states joining Canada.

Scientists are generally rational people, and the data is the ultimate
arbitor of truth.
Your chronic failure is that there is absolutely <NO> data that implicates
the sun in the observed warming of the last 100 years. <NONE>
What claims do exist are known to be based on falsified data and falsified
analysis produced by members of the CATO propaganda organization and the
Heritage Front (Foundation) disinformation organizations.

Well, lets see. If the earth absorbs energy and heats then that energy
has to come from somewhere. You claim it's the Sun, but the sun's output
has been observed to have declined as the earth has heated, now it doesn't
matter how many years worth of observations we have.
Unless of course your claim is that the energy needed to heat the earth
came from the sun in a form that is invisible to all forms of measurement.
I.E. by Magic.
Or unless your claim is that the energy just came from nowhere - a
violation of the fundamental laws of physics.
So which is it Swill? Are you a moron? Do you believe in Magic? Or are
you a Moron?
Those are the three possibilities here.

effect of cosmic radiation on the upper atmosphere and albedo changes
caused by changing vegetation and ice cover.

Most AmeriKKKans think the sun rotates around the earth once a day.
The Swill here seems to think that it's once every 100,000 years.
In reality the earth once arround the sun every year, and currently North
AmeriKKKan winter occurrs when the Earth is <CLOSEST> to the sun.
Now while the distance to the Sun at closest approach doesn't change
substantivelly what does change is the time at which the earth reaches it's
closes point.parahelion. In the current situation (interglacial) the
northern hemispher with more continental area is closer to the sun, and tips
the balance toward warming.
As the time of closest passage slowly shifts so that the southern
hemisphere is more directly exposed to the sun when the earth is closest,
the balance is tipped toward cooler temps and by that time the earth will
have entered an ice age.
Factors that influence the time of glaciation and interglaciation are the
orientation of the earth's tilt relative to it's orbital plane - principally
caused by solar and lunar tidal forces acting on the oblate ring of rock and
water that make the earth fatter at the equator, and changes in the
obliquity (orientation) of the earth's orbit that result from the tug of
other planets on the earth. And over the logest term, minor changes in the
excentricity (flatness) of the earth's orbit.

And that's why digital computers have been used to compute the earth's
orbit forward several billion years to check for orbital stability.
No substantive changes will occurr. Although there are minor orbital
variances, coincident with the onset ice ages and interglacials, as
mentioned earlier.
The smart fortwo city car will become available in electric form later this
year, after making its first appearance at the British International Motor
Show. The smart ev does away with the usual turbocharged three-cylinder
engine and instead gets a 30kW electric motor
Top speed is just 70mph, but the 0-30mph time is actually better than that
of the petrol fortwo at 6.5 seconds. The expected range is 72 Miles, and the
car is exempt from both Vehicle Excise Duty and congestion charges.
