Hi Viatologists,
It's no surprise that the new Worldwide Highway Library continues to
catalogue its archived content!
Today, the State Routes of Nevada are once again available to you. Did you
know that its two-digit state routes are laregly a relic from the past?
Routes 26, 28 and 88 all are the exception to the modern "three-digit" rule.
Perhaps historical and interregional significance has something to do w/ it.
Interestingly, these routes connect to state lines or easily come w/in a
hair of one. Three-digit routes are commonplace these days. Routes ending
in 3xx seem to cross county lines and have longer lengths than others. You
may find that shorter, obscure routes have an interesting pattern. It seems
certain blocks of numbers are delegated on the county-level. That all said,
come see for yourself:
http://worldwide-hwys.calrog.com
Photographs > Americas > State Routes > Nevada > Nevada State Routes
Stay tuned for photographs of other Nevada roads, including the Clark County
215 Freeway and Mustang Road in Washoe/Storey Counties. For an unrestricted
look at these routes, including all other worldwide highways, please
continue to use the deprecated WHL Repository at
http://worldwide-hwys.calrog.com/repository.html .
Enjoy!
Cheers,

Can **anyone** tell me what the hell the preceding sentence means? The
"library" is a Web site. It cannot do anything for itself. There also
seems to be some confusion about what constitutes "archived content."
Unsearchable, unlinked, and superseded content is the typical definition.
Once content is catalogued, it is neither unsearchable nor unlinked.
Of more pressing concern is whether anyone in Nevada asked for this.

I don't know if I fully agree. I normally think of a doofus as
well meaning but dumb and bumbling. I think of Carl as more of the
mentally challenged in that he has some grandiose vision of himself
where he thinks he is god-like, and the rest of us are mere children.
It is a good thing that he really isn't that bright or motivated
since someone like that could really be dangerous. Just look at
what Stalin was capable of doing.

Why of course, he's "archiving" "archived" content and making the
"archived" content available on his horrible "archive". :P

Or, in a totally alternative explanation, that two of the three 2-
digit routes are (not "perhaps") continuations of California routes
with the same designation. And, with one exception I can think of
(140, a continuation of the same route from Oregon), all of the 3-
digit routes below 500 are numbered with the lowest numbers on routes
beginning in counties lowest in the alphabetical list. I don't think
this is news to anyone who has looked at a map of Nevada (hell, I
figured it out when Nevada first unveiled their new numbering system
in the late 1970s). And, routes **ending** in 3xx? You mean there are
four (or more) digit routes?

Well, since he is covering (or thinks he is covering) Nevada, I have a
suggestion. Of out htere and get us some snaps of NV375. Maybe if we are
lucky, the aliens will take him back home.

I think the aliens must have borrowed my brains and replaced them with

What I meant to say is: Get out there and get us some snaps of NV375.

That would look a lot like the old classic mime routine of a man trapped in
a box, except instead of a wall of cardboard, it's a wall of suck.

Thanks for the link.
My hope is that krl will obey the order to go get a bad pic of NV375 (or
better yet a bad set of pics for a bad, "whl-360," capture and he will
get, "captured," himself by some greys.... ;)
