This just in:
http://www.alexa.com/data/details/traffic_details/cockatiel. org shows
a rating of 1,490,626
http://www.alexa.com/data/details/traffic_details/calrog.com shows a
rating of 1,551,329
The numbers don't lie, people. Calrog is hanging in there with the big
boys now, namely the North American Cockatiel Society.
Squawkatologistas and their feathered friend counterparts expressed
concern over what they viewed as an encroachment on their alexa
rating, by the competition.
Alexander, a local Lutino who had just gotten his wings clipped, had
this to say:
"(wolf whistle)... (unsuccessful attempt to whistle the Andy Griffith
theme song) step up. pretty bird. (unintelligible mumbling)"
For his human owner, it was a different story.
"We've put our best men on the team to build a proprietary engine that
will allow our viewers to view our bird cages from any angle, any
time, anywhere." said Gary Vandersen, spokesman for the Cockatiel
Society. "It's funny. When I started my website, it was a hobby. A way
for me to share my knowledge with cockatiel lovers the world over.
Over time, I became complacent until I realized that my alexa rating
of 1,490,626 was quickly in jeopardy of being overtaken by the
Worldwide Highway Library. In times like these, it becomes necessary
to step up- hold on, no not you birdy. I'm not telling you to step up,
I'm talking to the reporter... that's a good birdy. Pretty birdy."
Although Gary declined to comment on the release date of his NACS-360
technology, he didn't rule out the possibility of spamming USENET to
increase his site hits.
"When in Rome," he sighed. "In this case, rome is the alexa rating of
approximately one and a half million... Well, you know the rest."

I wonder if the cockatiel folks make up words and facts for their web page?
Take care,
Rich
God bless the USA
