(Possible) WavyFest en France [message #788818] Fri, 21 July 2006 23:16

Looks like SWMBO is off to foreign parts[1] in mid-late August....

Anyone up for a potential WavyFest round here around the 20th?[2]

Dave

[1] Foreign = UK
[2] Maybe. As I may be checking out the regional trail bike routes in the
time she's off, so it's not sorted yet.....

19 & 20 Aug I'll be in Reims. IIRC you are not very close to Champagne.

Bugger. I *love* that part of France. But I'll be hurtling around
some other scenery during the last 2 weeks of August.

Can you not persuade her to go away in September?

Hey!
1. That is within possible striking distance.
2. I just acquired a '97 Yamaha WR250 which might even be 'road legal'
for France by then. It is already registered here so I just have to
sort out insurance. Is it really true that bikes (enduro type at least)
do not need a controle technique?

But, I have to head back for Calais on the 23rd in time to watch some
bloke ride at the Manx, and more importantly blag a ride on my mate's
new Morini Corsaro 1200.

Keep me posted.

Riding a WR250 all the way here might be a bit, er, taxing.. You'd need to
stop every 40 minutes or so for fuel, for starters.

AFAIK, there's no CT for motos, which is why I plan to buy new over here....

There was one here the other week - big crowd of 'ped riding kids round it
so I couldn't get a close look, but looks nice. But the name's gay. "What
are you doing today?" "Going out for a ride on my 'Pirate'....."

Granted. I was thinking car and trailer if playing on forest roads was
on the agenda. Having said that, it would be probably be pushing my
luck given my lack of recent off-road experience and a pretty well
unknown bike. Best stick to pobbling it round the four hectares
available to me on-site for the moment.

Not as bad as the original Morini Corsarino 'little pirate'!

OK - certainly within my limits for a trip on the 'Tart'.
