12:00 and it's 96 Deg/f out, 78 in the house with the A/C
on. It's gonna be tough sleepin when I go to bed in a couple
of hours, my bedroom doesn't have A/C and leaving the door
open will let in too much light.

Chris,
There's a thing called a "misting fan" that might help. A really nice hotel
in LA had them in the pool area on a blistering day and it worked wonders.
I'm not sure how they would do in a home or interior setting but they were
impressive as hell. Saw them for $100 at Bed, Bath and Beyond recently.
Fuck, that sounded really gay. Sorry all.

That cool, last night 9:00PM still 98 outside, 100 inside, today again
record breaker 103 again, no breeze, just friggin hot. I can't figure
out why pioneers stopped in TX, hot, cold, wind, no water, WTF honey
you want to build your dream ranch here!
BTW, we tried to cook an egg on cement driveway, which burned our feet
walking on it, but it didn't cook at all.

That's where we got our Carpet Cleaner, using the 20% discount coupon
to shave at $200-something helps. We cleaned the master bedroom
carpet Sunday. The rest of the house we did the weekend before.
Gay as hell but when the water comes out black you know it needed
doing they way some things need killing.

I had a glorious ride into work this morning, probably in the high 50's
and dry, no fog.
I left work at 2pm and it was about 70 degrees...maybe...in SF. It was
93 degrees when I got to Palo Alto about 1/2 hour later, and it *had*
to have been at *least* 108 in Fremont when I got over the Dumbarton
Bridge. Good gawd...it got even worse when traffic slowed too much to
get decent airflow, yet too fast and unpredictable to split lanes on
880. I hate that freeway on my bike. I always marvel when I make it
home in one piece.
It's a beautiful 83 degrees in Oakland right now.
I'm glad I'm not wearing my riding gear anymore today.

Yeah, I've just come to the conclusion that dirt bike riding/racing is not
an activity for the summer here in TX. Good news is that we can usually
ride relatively unhindered October thru April or May.
For your sake Chris, invest in a window unit, a few large fans or both, as
the extreme heat sure doesn't do a body good.

Can I borrow it?
Today's forecast:
-------------------------------------
Forecast For Raleigh-Durham, Nc
327 Am Edt Tue Jul 18 2006
Special weather statement
353 Am Edt Tue Jul 18 2006
The Hottest Day Of The Summer Season Is Expected Today. Afternoon
Highs Are Forecast To Approach 100 Degrees With Heat Indices Of
100 To 104. High Temperature Records For The Date May Be Tied Or
Broken At Some Locations.
The Heat Index Is A Measure Of How Hot It Feels With The Combined
Effects Of Heat And Humidity On The Body. As Heat Index Readings
Increase Above 100...It Becomes More Difficult For The Body To
Naturally Cool Itself. The Elderly And Very Young Are Most
Susceptible To Heat Stress.
Residents Of Central North Carolina...Especially Those In Charge Of
Youth Groups And Sports Camps ...Should Review Safety Rules For This
Period Of Hot Weather. For Any Outdoor Activities... Make
Provisions For Plenty Drinking Water...Shady And Well Ventilated
Locations...And Conduct Most Strenuous Outside Activities Before
10 Am Or After 7 Pm If Possible.
------------------------------------
I'm loading up to go riding. Probably mostly between 10am and 7pm

Sunday was mid 90s here. I spent 9 hours helping my friend tear off and
replace the roof on his house. I had to quit at 5pm as I was hitting my
second cycle of deep chill. The only other time I ever felt that way was in
the Dam Good Hare Scramble where I hit the thermal or hydration wall;
freezing cold feeling when you know you are hot as hell. Not good.
It should finally cool off tonight.

It is not to hot to ride in Arkansas and Louisiana, if one approaches
it correctly.
RE: Breezy Hills, LA
We rode Saturday (100F peak temp for the day) evening from 6 till
7:30 pm.(got very hot in 13 miles). It was very good for 8 miles.
We rode Sunday (101F peak temp for the day) morning from 7:30 till
11:30. (didn't get too hot to enjoy until 35 miles.) It was "Great!"
for the whole 35 miles. Did not personally get overheated, just hot.)
