I recently obtained a used benchtop heated, ultrasonic cleaning unit. I am
hoping to use it to clean carburetors, bearings and other small misc parts.
One thing I have heard about is "flash rusting" as a result of the reaction
of the cleaning chemicals with the surface of the metal. Have any of you had
a fair amount of experience with ultrasonic cleaning of plated and
non-plated metals. Have you ever encountered issues with plating or with
exposed metals having a reaction ot the cleaning solutions? Any
recomendations for cleaning or rinsing solutions or techiniques for success.
Thanks in advance for your help.
