Hi,
I have done a lot of research through this newsgroup about this
problem and have tried the following solutions:
1. Replaced 1157 bulb
2. Checked and Rechecked ground going into socket assembly
3. Sprayed WD-40 into the Turn Signal Switch and moved up and down
20-40 times
4. Removed plastic cover on steering column and inspected wires and
connections
5. Checked towing socket for short
All of which has not fixed my driver side brake light not lighting
problem unfortunately. The bulb has two filaments and the top filament
lights when the electronic locks are activated by the remote. However,
only the passenger side and center top (above the back windshield)
lights when the brake lights are pressed. I tried looking for the
switch or wires that send the signal that the brake has been pressed
when it is pressed, but I could not find it and I do not have a
Chilton's manual available.
Any clues? Could it be a loose connection?
thanks!
Brian

I should add that I checked all the fuses and they are practically
brand new. No issues there.

Could be a broken wire in the steering column or a bad connection in the
directional light plate.
Left and right brake light current goes through the d-light plate.
