Somebody help me. I own a 1996 gmc Jimmy and i can not figure out what
is wrong with it. First it started overheating relly bad and we checked
the water and it was low so we put more in it. We let it run for a
little bit then we seen water dripping from under the motor so we added
more water and i started to drive it home. I stoped at the store close
to home and added more water and it didnot overheat once again. When i
finally got home i popped the hood and steam was coming from the
engine. there was no water in the oil and no water in the tail pipe. We
checked the theromstat and replaced it because it was bad. The car does
not overheat now but I stiil have water dripping from the motor. Any
ideas what could be the problem?

Yea, even Stevie Wonder could see that you have a leak somewhere. Why
not take a look for yourself. A ten year old vehicle could very easily
have a leaky water pump or coolant hose. It's an easy diagnosis and
hoses would be pretty cheap. You can't drive it at all now. Any further
overheating will almost certainly damage the engine.

The problem is a coolant leak. You should have your vehicle towed to an
automotive repair shop where they could determine the source of the leak and
repair it for you. From what you have said I would think you are not capable
of diagnosing the problem yourself and you may do permanent damage to your
engine if you do not have it fixed.
