98 dodge caravan
problem:
windshield wipers only work sometimes
found out that the motor and switch are good
what else could this be and how can I diagnose?

Loose or corroded wiring harness connector or bad ground. You would test it
by using a volt meter to check for voltage drops across al the circuits.
That might require some knowledge of the circuitry and skills at using the
meter, but most good technicians should be able to find the problem for you,
if you can not. Some people think they can save money by doing the repairs
them selves and end up paying more for replacing good parts than it would
have cost to have a repair shop fix it to begin with. If you can find the
ground wire from the wiper motor to the body, make sure that is clean and
tight first.

One of the bolts that holds it on is usually also the ground tag. These
get corroded and fail like you describe.
