Internal. Price seems to be between 20 & 30 GBP according to
http://www.misco.co.uk/categories/~510~/Internal.htm

But I don't know anything about them.

I got a Philips burner from PC World for 50summat quid and that wasn't the
cheapest. I think they're down in the 40 quid a pop region now, so they've
become almost a consumable.

just end of run models.

You want one which will burn both formats (i.e. + and -), and will burn to
Dual Layer discs (bit pricey ATM but will come down in time).

http://www.aria.co.uk/productslist.asp?Submit=search&Cat egory=114

Perhaps the NEC ND-4570 at under £24 inc VAT depending on colour, plus about
£8.20 p&p.

Martin.

I use an external, USB LG dual layer (connected to a laptop), bought
from SVP Communications and it's spiffy in extremis. Not a single
coaster, and it's quiet and fast too. Thoroughly recommended.

And can we just take a moment to praise SVP's customer support, who are
both a) pleasant and b) excellent; they've only ever cocked up one order
of mine, from many, but their attitude and efficiency in sorting it out
marks them down as a great company to do business with.

Twice, the fuckers have sent my stuff to an incorrect address: correct
postcode, correct house number, wrong cul de sac on the parcel label. The
address on the delivery note inside the package was correct. Fortunately,
the person at the house 500m away is an honest cove.

LG GSA-4167BA 16x DVD±RW/RAM Dual Layer Internal IDE (Beige) - OEM

£22.10+VAT from www.ebuyer.co.uk four months ago.

No doubt there's something fancier and cheaper by now, but LG seems
one of the better brands.
