Well done! I wouldn't have attempted such a journey myself.

*respect*
I did the Kent Custom from N.Wiltshire on a CB100N one year, using just
about every B-road possible. Total miles were about 420 for the round trip.
It was a great feeling actually getting there. I was grinning like a loon
for most of the time and riding with total disregard for personal safety
(possibly due to taking of several 'chemicals'). The ride back was truly
grim, and I was a *total* bag of bollocks when I got home on Sunday night.
Another fav was Cornwall 2-up on a CD175 with all the camping gear, and a
year before, the Lakes from Croydon again 2-up with kit on a 250G5 <spit>
I think I see a pattern there.....

I was knackered with hurty arms. Still, it was good that the bike made
it there and back. On the way there, I had to go through the Dartford
tunnel. Never been through that before on a bike.

Well there ya go; in the early 70s I used to regularly ride the
700 miles between Byron Bay and Uni in Canberra on a Suzuki 100. Shortest
time was 17h10m, longest non-stop was approaching 24 hours (the spark plug
broke down and I was limited to 45 mph for a long time until I found an
all-night servo that stocked a suitable plug).

Crumbs.. respect where respect is due. I was chatting to a friend today,
and he knew someone who went from the UK to Sweden on a monkey bike on

No, A100-II, which ended up with a B100P (120cc) piston in it to
boost capacity from 98 cc to 102 cc.

It probably ate my spare too, I don't remember. I have been known to
stop halfway home when the top speed dropped below 70 mph, whip the head off
for a quick decoke, and be on my way again within 15 minutes.

You're not far off.
I think the purchase price was €5200, quite recently.
It looks a bargain. It was completely original, not a tarted up resto.

This one was a US import, so mph speedo, and *utterly* correct. It was
the cleanest, most original old triple I have ever, ever seen, of any
capacity - discounting wheels-up restorations that are for display only.
Even the redline on the tacho wasn't faded. Extraordinary.
Anyway, turned out the owner bought it for 5200 euros, and added that in
France the C isn't in as much demand as the A or B.
In the UK, it's the opposite, of course.
I offered him 6000 euros and left my card. Who knows?
Oh, and while I was indeed in raptures over it, I really don't think I
levitated.

You did, at one point, hop into the air. Somewhere between capering and

Is that what all the hopping about with hankies is? An English form of
yogic flying?
