Shirley, a round for the house. It's a scorcher out there.
Headed to Phoenix again tomorrow. I'll be at MMI all week,
staying still Sunday so I can have a little fun time next weekend.
Looking at the forecast, it looks to be like Hell down there.
You Phoenix NetScum, maybe we can get together for an eyeball
this time around. Things didn't pan out last time, and I don't know if
I'll be down that way again for a while.
Shirley, one more round, as I'm getting thirsty just thinking
about the heat down there.

I really doubt that anyone will need a jacket. It was 102 here today
with typical deep south humidity; I never left the house. Good thing
the motel has a pool.
I'm working on putting together a little ride for both Friday and
Saturday if I can get any takers.
Thinking about visiting the Barber Motorsports Museum Friday and meeting
up with anyone coming from that direction for the ride back North.
Anyone interested in joining up lemme no.

We'll be leaving Ktown early Friday. Would love to take the ride to the
museum. How about pinging me with a few more details. We might need to
adjust our departure time.

I just got back from Phoenix and am still recuperating. It is impossible to
ride for more than 20-30 minutes without stopping for shade and water. Even
then riding is zero.shit fun. I was extremely retarded about the realities
of riding in that kind of heat. For one thing, wearing a helmet is probably
the worst thing you can do in that heat, it cooks your brain twice as fast.
I am opening myself up for a big time flamefest here when some of you read
my ride report on my new website www.exceptdeuce.com. I deserve it too, I
live in Vegas and should know better. Roast me and I'll post the best ones
for my penance.

Yes, you should have known better....to go places in an environment
without knowing where the fuck you were going....
A 5 or 6 hour ride through the desert without water, fucking insane.
I live in Phoenix and ride here year 'round. Ya HAVE to bloat yerslef
with fluids for a couple days before ya ride like that...then stop
FREQUENTLY for a cooldown and fluids during the ride.
I don't usually wear a helmet here, but a doo-rag sure keeps the sun off
my frikkin forehead and saves me from burning.......a mesh jacket sure
helps too.....gotta keep the sun and wind off yer bare skin.
I owned a Deuce......had the luggage rack on it and was able to
tie/bungee stuff to it all the time......
http://www.nite.com/imgp0067a.jpg
Please note I was wearing a helmet in this one, we were in California
(Ludlow).......in the frikkin Mohave Desert.
Now, have a cold beer and introduce yerself to the rest of the folks....

Yea, like there's a major difference in temperature between Vegas and
Phoenix.
Stupid is as stupid does: "I brought no water..."
Tune in next year when blueduece bitches about riding in Alaska, in
February, with just a tee-shirt.
BTW: I'm cooler in the heat with my full-face helmet on, rather than
off. It's all in the head.

Phoenix shouldn't be any different than Vegas. You should always carry
water, either in the saddlebages, or get a camelback. A helmet will help
cool you if it has vents, the air running through will evapoate. Same holds
true with a mesh jacket.

1.800.wah
wussy 'tard.
I commute every day - 166 miles, have a 32oz bottle at my side so I
can drink while riding - just ordered a camelback with room for two
100oz bladders for those time the Mrs rides along.
Riding is always fun - if it's not you need to *stop riding* before
you kill yourself or someone else.

im a bit miffed here boys
I live in Florida,
We were trained in grade school how to act in the heat. We are in a tropical
climate. You'll never see a Fl boy take a break in the sun, (believe it or
not I see people stop and sit in the sun for breaks !!!! )
I have met with people from the deserts and the mountains in the USA, all
were given local common knowledge that is second nature to them and Greek to
me ( butt lifesaving ).
