Damn.....I useta hang out up there the summer after high
school (1971).....I was the night manager at the Red Barn
restaurant in Ashtabula......
I was riding a Kawasaki 250 back then, just brimming with
"cool", oh yeah.........
Went back to Dayton (Beavercreek), then joined the Navy when
the summer was over (waited till the end of October).

Thorndale right in between Coatesville and Downingtown (central Chester Co).
Had planned on taking Rt 322 as far as I can but hadn't looked any further
than that. 322 should come close to Harrisburg/Carlisle which I think is
Curt's neck of the woods so depending on how he answers, I'm on the way.

I'm making this a two day trip out, just because I can, so
I'll hopefully be far west of you by Friday morning.
(Hmm, that didn't sound good. No offence intended. :) )
We can shirley hook up for the ride home together. Should
be another Hoodlum© Road Trip. Maybe we can even stop
in Altoona on the way home.

Ya know, If'n I can talk my riding partners into it (if I have any left
by that time), mebbe a run over to Philly could be done, say middle of
the week before Eddie's, then ride out with ya, although I gotta be at
the Cleveland airport Friday AM to pick up Vina. Good chance to ride
with some Hoodlums.

Well my tentative agenda at the moment is to leave Thursday morning,
from Philly,
and spend the night at Hoodlum 28s house in Winchester, VA on
Thursday night, then mosy up to G-O-T-L on Friday. Could bring
you near there on Friday AM, prolly not though.
If not, you'll get to ride with Hoodlums on the run. The Hoodlums
do the road-blocking maneuvers. <sfsf>

Gotta have good water to make beer ya know.....
The longer I looked at the radiator, the more I was sure I
wasn't going to bother trying to clean it. Six year old, 92K
mile radiator packed full of dirt and crap.......now my
wife's jap truck has a new chinese radiator. Can't believe
how much colder the AC blows now that it's got some airflow
across the radiator/condenser.
As good as I thought I was doing on the timing belt job, I
put a bellville (sp) washer on backwards on the belt
tensioner pulley for the power steering. So when I fired it
up, the pulley was a solid fixture.....belt snapped in a
heartbeat. So it was off for another round of searching for
parts......frikkin NO aftermarket local had a power steering
belt for a 2000 Nissan truck. Dealer had it....and sold it
cheaper than Checker Auto would have. Damn belt was rotten
anyway......made me look at the other two closer than I
had.....they were OK.
Why is it that the closer you have something like this put
together, the tighter the clearances are for ya to put yer
hands......
Learned that AutoZone carries spark plugs for my 2005 twin
cam 88....(Champion RA8HC) for $1.49......bought a pair,
since I forgot to get them at the dealer monday while I was
doing the 10K service on my bike......
Big thing was the after job cleanup.....since I'd had
antifreeze all over everywhere.....had to do a special, good
cleanup so one of more of my puppies doesn't get a dose of
the stuff by accident.....neighbor lady gave me a funny look
when she saw me on my hands and knees scrubbing the garage
floor.......but it wasn't any funnier than the look she
gives me when she sees me using my leaf blower to clean out
the garage instead of a broom.....<sfsf>
Well......when I moved the bike back over to it's usual spot
in the garage......damn throttle felt funny, rough and a
little sticky. Musta been from the dirt/rain/hail I ran
through last week. Will have to pop the air cleaner back off
and lube up the cable and linkage......and the cable itself.
Not now......in the morning. After breakfast and before I
take the wife's truck over for it's new tires.....<sfsf>.
