Yep 14 days before we depart on the Spudfest adventure! I cant wait to
finally meet a few more of yall. Cindy and I will leave out the 30th, travel
via Dallas and CTD's where we will load up his toys and run as far as we can
stand on day one. My thinking is that we get a really good day of driving
in the 1st day so I wont be as tired by the time we arrive at the fest.
Great time for more war in the middle east huh. Gonna put a pinch on the
budget with them darn gas prices!!!!! Think I could teach the HEMI to like
E85....not. Se yall soon.

13 days for us! We'll leave Friday the 28th in the early evening, drive
as far as we can
(for sure to Reno, hopefully to Winnemucca) spend the night and then
finish out the drive on Saturday the 29th. Pull into Baum before it
gets dark so's we can see where we're driving <G> and pick out a good
spot by the river. I hope we can get the Pleasure Palace down that
rocky hill without damaging anything...
Can't wait to see everyone again and meet some old friends face to face
for the first time.

OP, do you know about what time you'll be in Dallas? Doesn't matter
to me, just wanna be prepared :-)

My folks just drove to Oregon and back. They left Canton (TX) at
the ungodly hour of 4am, stopped by our house to pick up some flea
pills for their dog, and then made it all the way to Green River,
Utah, on Interstate 70 (via Farmington, NM... Cortez, CO... and Moab,
UT). That's about 1,118 miles on day one. On day two they drove
through Provo, Salt Lake City, Twin Falls, Boise and Ontario before
stopping at my sister's house in Baker City, OR... about 645 miles.
And their last day of driving was about 305 miles, past Pendleton,
through the Columbia River Gorge and on into Portland.
I dunno where you're at in Louisiana, which route you plan on
taking, or what time you're heading out, but using the above route I
think if you made it to Farmington you'd be doing very good. From
Shreveport that's just over 1,000 miles, leaving about 720 miles or so
to Baum.
Of course if you're really crazy you might make it from Shreveport
to Moab... 1,193 miles on the first day. Leaving only about 540 miles
to Baum.
