Some time ago I ordered 2 black N800V's from a dealer website (Loz
might remember, but I'll name and shame once the whole thing is done).
They never arrived, and I've been in contact with that dealer many
times since. Eventually, he raised a tracer with Royal Mail, and agreed
if the package had got lost to replace/refund.
I've not heard anything since, although I know RM can be painfully
slow. However, it's almost 2 months now (good job I wasn't in a hurry!)
so want to get it sorted.
I've noticed they no longer have this lid on their site (they were
selling off old stocks). They don't appear to stock the 810v or the
900v in solid colours, but they do have the 1200v.
Is the 1200v any good and is the solid black actually solid black?
Should the dealer be able to source 810v solid colours as a
replacement, or should I push for the 1200v from stock as a good will
upgrade?

You'll be lucky to find a new black N800-V anywhere now. The N810-V has
been around for about a year and any 800s you find will be old stock, if
anyone has one left, which I very much doubt.

The N1200-VX is a better helmet, certainly lighter at 1250g and for some
people it's comfier. It also has a better visor mechanism. You may find
you need a size smaller than usual, the sizing comes up ever so slightly
large.
You can't get an N1200-VX in solid black, only metallic black.

I'd go for the N1200-VX in met black as a goodwill thing.

Exactly.

Okay, that's good to know.

that's okay, I meant solid as opposed to some sort of gash gay replica
colour scheme like Fr. Jacks. ;o)

Seemed a reasonable idea to me - thanks for the confirmation.
