Some people do things which are illegal. They do them because despite
they're illegality they think it's OK.

Ah, but I disagree with that. I would maintain that such people do it
because even though they may recognise that their action is wrong, it's
still "OK" for *them* to do it. Nobody is compelled to act: they do it of
their own will. Even if they subsequently change their mind at the time
they act they think it's OK.

Not so, IMO. I think Simian is on the nose on this one - many 'wrong'
things are done by people who know they're wrong, and not in any way
"OK" for them or anyone else, but they just don't give a shit. You
can't tell me that a rapist thinks there's nothing wrong with what
he's doing, or that although wrong for anyone else, it's "OK" for him.
