If it weren't for the gun nuts, you'd be having tea and crumpets and driving
on the wrong side of the road.
With all of the off topic discussions here why would you single out politics
and guns? Without moderation you will have to deal with the off topic
discussions. Do what I do, read the header, if it's something I don't care
about, I hit the delete key.

You are right, picking out gun freak threads or US political freak
threads or even Billy's boyfriends' threads isn't really fair and was an
obvious error as the majority here seem to like them.

I shouldn't have gotten mouthy because I am in a bitchy mood and should
have just posted the Charter as a stand alone thread because it needs to
be posted now and then to keep it valid.

Mike

Oh, I like tea and crumpets 'and' own a gun but we still drive on the
'right' side of the road up here.

Good question, I just Googled it, here is the definition from Wikipedia

>An English crumpet is a cake made from flour or potato and yeast eaten
mainly in the United Kingdom, but also in the nations of the
Commonwealth. In Scotland the term is used for a large thin teacake,
made from the same ingredients as a "Scotch pancake".

The term dates back to 1694 and may refer to a crumpled or curled-up
cake, or have Celtic origins relating to the.Breton krampoez meaning a
"thin, flat cake" and the Welsh crempog, a type of pancake.

Yes, tarts are easy women, crumpets are women you fancy.

I managed to wander into the only English restaurant in Albuquerque once
(without realising it was English), and they featured "Pub Tart" on the
menu. The waitress sadly did NOT find it funny when I suggested that they
renamed it :-)
