Well those alcohol additives can help, try it once.

Now is there any portion of yer air filter that's exposed to th'
elements? There's about 3/8" of exposed air filter around th' dia,
next to th' backing plate on mine. Sometimes I'll wrap a piece of
blue painters tape around it to cover th' gap and that seems to help.

Some folks also make deflectors that guide warm air from around th'
hot cylinders to th' exposed air filter and backing plate areas.

Snarl... the "you might have to make th' deflectors" Asshole(tm)

No, I knew what you meant. It usually happens when there is
humidity in the air and the temperatures are slightly above
freezing. Any auto parts store will have a fuel addidive that's
alcohol based, and helps the problem.

Yeah, in small airplanes it's a well known and well addressed
problem. In HDs , it's less addressed, because it doesn't
happen in sub-freezing conditions, but in slightly above
freezing conditions. So you're cruising down the road at
say 35-40 F, and your bike starts to bog down, and you
don't think about freezing, because the temp around you
is above freezing. But the alcohol does help it, going from
past experience.

I think he meant it freezes while driving it. What the heck, why not
lite it while driving it :)
