Has anyone tried to remove the stickers from the visors? If so, what
did you try and how did it work out? I am tired of seeing those
stickers all over my visors and would like to take them off.

I just pulled mine off, and it worked OK. They have probably changed
the glue and/or label material over the years, so it is probably not
that easy for all vintage Explorers. Mine is a 96.

On my '05, they are very well attached and it seems like that mousy
fabric would tear before they come off. I'm thinking of using a hair
dryer to heat them and then try it. I could not even get a corner to
start when I tried it earlier today.

Ford (and other manufacturers) place these stickers for liability reason...
they do not want them coming off in shipping. With the CD holster in place,
I can't see mine. One of the things we check during the PDI process is to
ensure that these labels are present and securely attached..... Just thought
someone would like to know...

Yeah, I know it's all about CYA and product liability. I just want to
get rid of them. Maybe the best bet is your idea to cover them up
with something else.

Mine had been on a three or four years before I peeled them off.
Perhaps the glue deteriorates over time, and you might be able to get
them off in 2008. I can almost guarantee that they've changed visor
material, label material, glue, or some combination of the three between
96 and 05, so your guess is as good as mine.

For what it's worth, I'm having the same problem with some blinds I just
bought. So it's not just cars.

I used a heat gun. The fabric type ones came off fairly easy. Go
slow... and carefull... too much heat will melt the fabric.

The shiny plastic one came off as well but left alot of adhesive on the
fabric. Repeated applications of laquer thinner via a paper towel
eventually wicked up the adhesive.

Another thoought is a couple of visor mounted CD/organizers.
