2005 Dyna seat [message #488138] Sun, 23 October 2005 19:16

I'm a new Harley owner/rider. I have a 2005 Dyna Super Glide Custom. Awesome
bike!!
I've been riding for over 40 years and usually I have to lean forward a bit
due to my short arms, and of course couldn't reach the ground flat footed.
Now I can and it's great..
I've changed positions on the stock handle bars to where I'm pretty
comfortable. Now I'm looking for a seat that is more comfortable for longer
rides especially for the passenger.
The Harley Sundowner Deep Bucket seat looks like it might to the trick but I
do not want to sit any further back. I don't want to order one sight unseen
etc.
Has anyone used the Sundowner seat that also has a limited reach? Please
advise.
Thank in advance,

Smitty, Thanks for your reply. I looked at the Mustang Dyna seats. I may
have to compromise a little padding for the sleeker lines of the Sundowner.

Tim,
I've got a Mustang studded solo on a 95 Superglide I bought last year. The
seat was 8 yr. old and is a little uncomfortable after an hour or so of
riding. The foam doesn't seem to be broken down it's just a little too thin
in the area where you sit most of the time. Checked with them and they want
half the cost of a new seat to rebuild the foam, plus shipping, which seems
a little high, so I've done some looking at other seats. Seems the Saddleman
has the best recommendations here and in the V-twin forum.
Do a google search on Groups and if you belong to V-Twin forum do a search
there. If you don't belong you might want to consider it, it's just a
registration and a great source for information, networking and etc.
