i had a timing belt changed about 2 years ago and there was a slight
ping on acceleration every once in a while but not always.
is there any way a can adjust the timming without redoing the whole
job, i alreay reatded the distributer all the way.
thank you

An occasional ping is nothing to worry about.

"Distributer"? Do Gold Wings have distributors, or are you talking
about a "car"?
Why do you believe that pinging has anything to do with spark timing?
"Ping" is short for pre-ignition. The cylinder fires *before* the spark
plug fires because the mixture is too lean or the spark plug ground
electrode is glowing red hot or because carbon in the combustion
chamber is glow red hot.
You can cool the combustion chamber down by using higher octane
gasoline or by richening up the idle mixture by turning the idle
mixture screw in the rich direction, assuming your motorbike (or car)
has carburetors. With a richer idle mixture, the engine should quit
pinging.

If the valve timing is truly off, then the engine is not running as it was
intended. Usually the compression will be low and as such it will have less
power than it is supposed to. You also will get poor mileage. I would
verify first that the valve timing is correct or not. I would also adjust
the ignition timing back to where it is supposed to be. Ignition timing will
affect engine performance and mileage. Check your spark advance units. They
could be stuck in the advanced position. The fix is obvious in that case.
