Hey guys yet another drama with my $900 beauty, the bike wont start,
strange as i rode it the day before and didnt have any problems with
it. The tank has fuel and the electric start sounds like it works as
it seems the engine is trying to turn over but it just wont start, i
removed the battery and fully charged it and put it back but it still
wont start so i dont think its a power problem. Any ideas ?

The GSX250 has one of the worst charging systems known to mankind.
Alternators and reg/recs fail with depressing regularity. have you
checked that it's charging the battery?

Emergency shutoff switch in the "RUN" position?

No, not on these. Some bikes will spin the motor with the kill switch in
the off position, but this 250 is not one of them. I've owned two.
(Bloody silly, really, since one should have taught me a lesson)

Are you really trying to say that your starter goes "ying ying ying
ying ying ying", but the engine never starts running?
Your carburetor doesn't have a real "choke". It doesn't have a flat
plate that closes off the mouth of the carburetor and makes it suck
hard enough to draw gasoline into the
engine.
It has a starting enrichener valve that allows air to go *around* the
closed throttle butterfly. The enrichener then sucks gasoline straight
out of the float bowl. Your engine should start with the "choke" lever
all the way on and you shouldn't have to touch the throttle handle at
all.
When a carburetor starts getting dirty and clogged up inside, the idle
RPM will be too low and the engine will stall. Riders don't realize
that the carburetor is getting gummed up and they turn the idle speed
knob up to make the engine idle faster.
That works for a while when the engine is still hot. But when the
engine is cold, the throttle butterflies are open too far and you don't
get enough vacuum to suck fuel out of the carburetor float bowl.
So, what I recommend doing is to turn the idle RPM knob all the way
down, put the petcock selector lever into the PRI position, and try to
start the engine. If it starts firing, you'll have to hold the throttle
open a little to keep the engine running. Then you cana djust the idle
speed back to normal when the engine is warm.
In order to clean your carburetors out, go to Wal*Mart or a good auto
parts store and buy a can of Berryman's B-12 Choke and Carburetor
Cleaner. It's about $3.00 for a 15 ounce can of the liquid B-12, not
the aerosol.
Pour three ounces into a full tank of gasoline and go for a ride. Ride
slowly, with as little throttle as you can to make the engine suck
gasoline through the idle jets. You'll notice that the engine starts
idling faster and you can turn the idle speed knob down.
