My 02 ultra, as of sat., just stars and dies, you can hear the pump run off
the bat but will only stars and run for maybe 2 seconds. Will the factory
security cause a problem like this or is it likeley another problem?
Thanks for any help

Don't know if the security system(S/S) is responsible for your
problems, but I have a couple buddies that experienced the same
symptoms as yours and it turned out to be their S/S. That was reason
enough for me to decline purchasing the S/S when I ordered my '02
Ultra.
Let us know what you find out.

I had exactly the same thing happen on my 03 FLSTCI with security module. In
my case, it happened after I got on the bike and set the alarm off. After
that, it would do exactly what you described. I also noted that I was
getting a trouble code on my check-engine light. I suspected the security
module, and after getting it home, my plan was to disconnect the battery
from the bike for several minutes to clear the code and "reset" the system -
a plan that was endorsed by a buddy who was doing the Harley course at MMI
as well as by a couple of guys here on AMH. When I went out to do that the
next day, the bike started fine. It left me with the check engine light
still lighting for awhile, indicating a trouble code, but otherwise no
problem. I have little doubt that if I put a code reader on the thing, it
would have reported a problem with the TSSM.
Anyway, if your bike still won't start, I'd disconnect the battery for 10
minutes and reconnect. I'll bet it will start then.
