My HOG membership is coming up (been member 1 year). The main reason
for renewing would be to keep the roadside assistance basic benefit.
Before sending in the renewal, can anyone give me the skinny on what
is covered?
I understand basic membership gives me 1 call for help a year. And
$100 year reimbursement for repairs.
When I call, will they always send out a repair person? Will they
always provide towing to the nearest dealer if necessary? Is the
towing included in the $100 or on top of the $100?
Thanks. Any information appreciated.

My only distress call resulted in simply a tow truck driver.

My one experience was "only" to the nearest dealer. I slipped him a
$20 to take me to my campground.

Included.

And for just a few dollars more an additional bike can be added.

Never used it personally. Only experience has been when a friend
broke down over 50 miles from home. He had a new Road King that was
under warranty and had paid extra for HOG Roadside Assistance (this
was couple of years ago).
No one ever showed up. I was able to drive over 50 miles back into
another town, pick up another friends F-150 and ramps, and go back to
get my friend. My friend with the Road King had a cell phone and no
one called to see if he had been taken care of.
We hauled the bike to our local H-D shop and it was fixed under
warranty, but nothing was ever said about the expense I incurred or
why HOG or whomever did not respond.
Others, I am sure, have had better experience. Personally, I question
its value.
