Yeah, what you've *really* got to do is have enough money in the bank it
doesn't matter a toss which way you pay. If the interest your money earns
can pay for whatever it is you buy in a few days, just splurge out and buy
it and say bollocks to the sums.

Same as buying anything at all, in fact.

My cars (these days) generally have the same value when I sell them as when
I buy 'em. Fuck all:-)

I understand the principle but I was quoting your comment. Whatever way
you look at it, you're dropping shedloads and paying (or losing)
interest for the privilege.

I guess it's each to their own but our car hardly turns a wheel during
the week so I'd be dropping a stack on a driveway ornament.

And if that was my usual amount of driving I'd be happy with a much cheaper
conveyance.
At the mo though I do 30k miles a year and drive it every day so I want
something I'm comfortable in and enjoy driving.

That and I get a car allowance which pays for it :0)

I like the fact that buying and rebuilding my Bindit cost me =A3100 less=20
than the price of a Maxton shock absorber for the Gixer.

Being the owner of several Italian cars would usually make you well
qualified to comment on shite interiors, but personally I think you're
talking out of your arse on this one.

I've done shitloads of work on both British and Japanese assembled
Toyotas and they are pretty well nailed together on the interior side of
things, as are all the other Japanese cars I've worked on. German cars
do seem to be a little tougher, but Japanese cars will last as well if
cared for.
