How many IRL's have we had where things got out of hand? At the most,
someone might decline your handshake or offer of a beer. But that's the
thing about this place, you can cuss each other all ya want in here but
riding across country to meet that same person puts it in a different
realm. Let's see if she shows up at Eddie's. I was gonna say the
gauntlet has been thrown down, but instead just say the invitation has
been extended.

Your facts leave out much of what we've all seen in here and know as fact as
to what/who she's claimed to be. Now, for the real question, which regular
was it that convinced her that it would be a good idea to come clean with a
new intro in order to get a fresh start only to have it backfire? I'm not
expecting anyone to answer that, but damned, did that ever bite her in the
ass.

I know it's after midnight, but here's the *facts* as I *know* them.
Beckyboo put a flag for auction on the Eddie site, told all exactly
what they were bidding on.
I *know* that the typical price for such a flag is about 45 bucks
retail.
I won the flag, and me and Shirley corresponded privately about
the transaction, and in so doing, I was given more private info
about her name, address, etc that y'all ain't privy to, and it all
was correct information.
I recieved the flag precicely when she told me I'd recieve it,
and it was of the quality that had been represented to me.
Consequently, I know where she lives, I know who her
partner in the flag business is, and my take is they're allright
people.
As far as why Stone would show up on a web site she used to
help flush out a snake I could only speculate.
But then again, I've been wrong once or twice before.

This is all exactly correct and I agree. And I hope she does come to the
EKIII run, or at least is willing to hook up along the way so I can
apologize in person on behalf of r.m.h for the boorish treatment she's
received here. Particularly since I encouraged her to stick it out and
try to have some fun. Cold day in hell when I suggest that to anyone again.

No offense tooberdude, but this strikes me as rather arrogant that you
feel you'd speak on behalf of all of rmh. I haven't taken sides on this,
and I'd meet her IRL, but I don't think an apology is required when
somebody claims bullshit.

Now don't go and be like that, you know that's how these things go, and in a
day or two a majority of us will forget it, or at least let it go, there'll
be the occassional jab and "yer full of shit" and after an IRL we'll all be
laughing about it (and asking to see more pics of the girls). The question
is whether she makes it for that day or two and sticks around long enough to
make it to an IRL.
Some people slide right in here, some come with the wrong intentions and end
up having to work a little harder at it, same ole same ole.

You're right, it didn't stop there. If you feel she needs an apology,
extend your regrets that things turned out this way and encourage her to
stay. But don't offer those regrets on behalf of rmh.
If it turns out she's not full of shit then those that want can
apologize at that point if *they* feel it's due.
Apologizing on behalf of all takes away our individuality. This is RMH,
you will be assimilated.

I just erased 5 paragraphs detailing why you've been wrong headed about
this whole thing. It was a waste of time but left me feeling better. If
you had taken the time to get to know her better you'd know she didn't
need to be told to do a re-intro. And neither of us knows if anyone did
tell her that, but then so much of what has passed in this thread
materialized full bloom in your head. If anyone did suggest that I have
not doubt it was suggested in a friendly way and in good faith that the
better side of this joint would shine through. This place is not always
the feral dog pack this thread would have one believe.

You're an excellent wordsmith, much better than I will ever be, even if I
were to reach your advanced years ;-) so I'm sure it would have been well
worth the read, but I've certainly backspaced over a few longwinded posts
myself and can understand the therapeutic properties of simply typing it.

Nothing in her posts gave me an urge to do so.

I have no doubt. I couldn't imagine that someone would have suggested it
maliciously, nor was that my implication.

My mother didn't teach me manners because she didn't know how or have
many of her own to share. That I learned the hard way. The elder
statesman and northern gentleman that I am requires it (ok, having a
little trouble keeping a straight face here). Assimilate me, but I will
do the right thing. I've already extended my regrets and my
disappointment but if given the opportunity to look her in the eye, I
will say "I'm sorry".

There's a legitimate time for anger and disappointment. This has been a
time of disappointment. That's just the way I'm wired.

I'm a little weepy myself, of course mine could be attributed to it being
3:11am here, I'm still sitting at my desk at work after 19 hours while
watching the server recontruct a database as a result of a server crash, all
while listing to the thunder and pouring rain outside the window while the
Ural sits in the parking lot unprotected from the elements. At more than
one point this evening I thought it was karma getting back at me for
"crossing the line". ;-)
I'm going to go find a couch in about 20 minutes in order to catch about 2
hours sleep. You thought I crossed the line before, just wait until I get
all silly from the lack of sleep.

I don't know, Spunky. My niece really was killed by some prick that
she met on the 'net and married, who then disappeared, taking all her
possessions and insurance money with him. My bro-in-law searched in
vain for the dude until the day he died.
Who knows what you might try in such a situation?

LIttle full of yourself, aren't you? Apologizing on behalf of r.m.h? What
in the world makes you think that you have any right and/authority to do such
a thing?
You want to apologize on your own behalf? Spiffy. Knock yourself out. On

Thank you for that.
Oooh! Here's an idea! If you'd like to have a kinder, gentler, more
compassionate group, why don't you start one. You could host it on your
servers, have it by invitation only and only invite people of whom you
approve. People who have proven to you that they are worthy of being there.
People who agree with you and live up to your standards.
I won't hold my breath waiting for an invitation, and I doubt I'll miss the
stampeding hordes leaving r.m.h for your fiefdom.

Oh, hell, if you didn't get it, nevermind.
You originally posted about the shit-hole this place is, then said it's not
always (paraphrased for expediency... and that's how *I* remember it, so you
can't really say you didn't).
Then I throw in a John Kerry sobriquit(sp?), since he's a "C" student and
you're not.
<that'll probably go right over your head too.. and I'll need to explain
*that*>
(Explanation: Dubya was a "C" student too, but ranked higher than Kerry
in his graduating class)
And John Kerry was known as the "Flip Flop Candidate".
There.
Did I leave anything out?
You and I are going to do a lot of discussing at EKIII's.

I could well be wrong. Do unlikely things happen? Sure. All the time. But
it's so unlikely that I'm highly skeptical about it all.
But then, I don't believe very much of anything unproven anyway, so don't
think I'm putting myself up as the living standard.

It's a new show, "Asshole/Troll Whisperer", it a attempts to make everyone
play nice whether they want to or not. Tell the truth, bullshit, outright
deceive, make shit up, raise the noise signal, fuck over ppl and then sing a
line of Cumbaya, fart in the general direction of rmh, start international
incidents over not a fuckin' thing worth reading, save a troll, imagine, nay
let your imagination fly with eagles about the dangers of EKIII to
outsiders, take notes, alienate folks, beg forgivenss with a new story
(truth optional), show off your Nancy Drew certificate, get yer freak on and
be HEARD! Or not, fuck my old boots, this thread just slays me for insipid
flotsum. Glad I could help Nancy.

Lemme get this straight because it has the potential for being circular.
I cannot appologize on behalf of r.m.h, but you can speak out against me
on behalf of r.m.h. Am I on the same page?

Panhead does not live up to your standards and you have expressed as
much repeatedly. I'd guess I'm on that same list with Ken. If you like,
I can make space available on one of my servers for your own list of
worthy people.
